Wetlands have become the focus of considerable debate and controversy. The presence of wetlands on a parcel of real estate may restrict, and in some cases preclude, development of that property. In addition, not all wetlands are easily identifiable. In many cases, when property transfers are conducted neither the purchaser nor the seller are aware of the presence of wetlands on the property.
EI can assist clients in addressing wetland issues in a variety of ways depending on the clients needs. Services offered include:
- Preliminary Wetland Determination
- Wetland Assessment .
- Client Representation to COE during Permitting
- Preparation of State and Federal Permit Applications
EI's staff scientists have technical experience in wetland identification, delineation, and permitting, and can assist clients in making decisions regarding the development potential of properties.
Development of properties can sometimes be delayed or halted entirely due to the presence of endangered species, unique natural communities, wetlands, or other natural resources. These delays are costly in both time and finances invested in a project. In many cases, these problematic situations can be avoided through an assessment of natural resources prior to the commencement of development activities, or even prior to the purchase of the property.
EI's staff includes biologists and ecologists with background and experience in terrestrial and aquatic ecology. Ecological services include:
- Preliminary Ecological Assessment
- Endangered/Threatened Species Survey
- Ecological Resources Inventory
