(EI) is pleased to announce that Manager of Environmental and Engineering Services, Michael Walker, P.E., has been asked to conduct a national teleconference regarding the Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures (SPCC) Rule. The teleconference, entitled "Oil SPCC Update: How Do the Ongoing Changes Affect You?," is scheduled for September 21, 2010 at 1:00 EST and will last approximately 1-1/2 hours.
Mr. Walker has provided oil spill compliance and other services to industries for 30 years, both to FORTUNE 500 companies as well as local businesses. He has written and certified hundreds of SPCC plans and has been a subject matter expert and speaker at numerous conferences. Mr. Walker has assisted clients in responding to regulatory agency inspections, violation notices, and general compliance efforts.
The Oil SPCC rules set forth by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) did not change much over their first 30 years of their existence. However, in 2002, the agency published new proposed rules and is continuing to modify those rules, including streamlining and clarification efforts associated with the 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 changes. With most of EPA’s changes complete, this teleconference will address the changes presented by the numerous Federal Register announcements.
